Dear All -Takako Wayama (JSRPD)
Dear All
In the year 2003, a Bangladesh lady came to Japan.
She has spinal cord injury and obviously needs aisle chair during flight.
She booked the ticket without any problem.
However, when she informed the airline about her disability
she was requested NOT to travel alone.
The air line didn't aware the needs of their customer and not only that
rejected her to travel alone.
She had to cancel the flight and instead flew with other air line, which
accomodates aisle chair and had no problem in flying. I also heard this kind
of stories from other people.
I wonder if any of you have had same experiences like her
or have heard of stories.

I had faced this kind of problem before. The airline company rejected me to take the plane by myself. They also asked me to bring an assistant. But I told them that I bought the ticket already, they couldn't reject me for my disability. It is illegal. And I don't have duty to get a medical certificate to prove I can take the plane by myself. Oppositely, they have to prove why I can't take the plane by myself.
Otherwise, they can't reject me. Finally, they let me take the plane by myself.

Dear Mayama San,
I did not have this problem but some of my friends had it. one of them was a top sportman who gained an schoolarship in Spain. Iberia airline dd not allow hiom to travel.
It is incredible how airlines care more about cargo than about people.

One gentleman with disability in Japan is filing a suit to X air line for not letting him fly alone. I hope I can follow up this case and share with you all.
