TRAINING REPORT for Leaders' Course on 13 October
Activities by persons with intellectual disabilities
(October 13, 2005)
Mr. Kenjiro Yamada lectured on the activities of "Yuai kai"
(Association for persons with intellectual disabilities).
He also shared his experience with us. Mr. Kaoru Suzuki,
Director of Welfare Home for intellectual disabilities and a
supporter of "Yuai kai" also gave us brief information on
the current situation of persons with intellectual disabilities.
In the afternoon we visited both Setagaya Municipal Kinuta
Kobo, Sheltered Workshop for Persons with Intellectual
Disabilities and "Sukippu",
Employment Support Center for Persons with Intellectual
Disabilities to observe how persons with intellectual
disabilities are engaged in their works and what kinds of
support or services they receive.
